Wade Engineering is COR certified (Certificate of Recognition Program through Alberta Construction Safety Association) and strictly exercises work place safety protocols in order to prevent and reduce the personnel and monetary losses associated with work place accidents. This has enabled us to repeatedly work with various Government and Private Sector entities such as Alberta Infrastucture, EPCOR, City of Edmonton, Greater Edmonton Foundation, University of Alberta, Telus and Black Gold Regional Division No. 18.
As a continuous effort to educate Condominium home owners about common property component needs, Our team often presents on topics related to building envelope failure reviews, capital restoration projects planning and financing, reserve fund study planning etc., to home owner and condo managers through Canadian Condominium Institute Alberta (CCI).

Allan King, P.Eng.
Allan King is the Founder and President of Wade Engineering since its inception in 1986. In his capacity as the President, Al has built an extremely competent executive team to manage the day-to-day operations. Al works closely with the roofing and the building envelope team and shares his wealth of knowledge in various roofing design, specialty coatings, wall assemblies, attic ventilation upgrades, reserve fund studies and general maintenance and repair of major building envelope components. As the Professional Engineer of Record for Wade Engineering, Al reviews/stamps the majority of the detail drawings for building envelope restoration projects.
Al is passionate about investigating building failures and analyzing the cause and effect of water entry into buildings. For the past three decades, Al has investigated hundreds of new and existing buildings in and around Edmonton area, gaining unparalleled knowledge and experience in assessing failures and developing corresponding course of action. Besides his expertise in consulting on building failures, Al has an invested interest in Reserve Fund planning and financing philosophies. He has developed a unique funding philosophy that has been copyrighted and used in our Reserve Fund Study reports to determine sufficient funds required for maintaining common property.components for a period of 25 years.
Al is a strong proponent of clean eating and overall health and well-being.
Director, Building Envelope Services
Ron’s an expert in investigating and troubleshooting envelope failures in existing and new construction. Ron conducts and provides direction on water entry investigations, window audits, air/vapour barrier reviews, pre-purchase inspections and life-cycle costing for various type of construction. Architects and Design Professionals often seek his expertise in this area to assist with specific envelope detailing and construction issues.
As Director of the Building Envelope department, Ron spearheads the design and specification team for the complex envelope projects for repair, replacement and upgrades of exterior cladding and building envelope systems. Ron has been with Wade Engineering for 20 years and has been involved in restoration of a significant number of stucco-clad single and multi-family buildings within the city of Edmonton.
When Ron is not busy writing specs, he likes to golf in the some of the best courses around the world.
Director, Reserve Fund Study Services
Shantel Kalakalo is an experienced Reserve Fund Planner who has been an asset to our team for the past 16 years. In her current role, Shantel acts as the Director of the Reserve Fund Study Department and works closely with the team preparing the reports. During her time at Wade Engineering, she has gained a thorough understanding of Reserve Fund Studies and has presented hundreds of Reserve Fund Studies to our clients over the years.
In Shantel’s spare time, she likes to work on small art projects, enjoys puzzles, traveling and listening to music.
