Specification Preparation and Inspection of Work in Progress PDF Print E-mail
Preparation of comprehensive specifications for component replacement ensures designs meet the owner’s criteria for performance and budget considerations.  The cost to the owner to have the specifications prepared is, more often that not, offset by the savings resulting from the competitive bidding process where qualified contractors submit tenders for the same scope of work.

A typical design and inspection includes the following services:

  • Review of existing components and identification of details.
  • Design and drawing of new details and preparation of specifications for tender
  • Onsite meeting with bidding contractors.  Issuance of addenda and change orders as necessary
  • Performance of inspections of work in progress to assess contractor performance and quality of installation, and to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Preparation and submission of inspection reports to all parties concerned (i.e., general contractor, owner, prime consultant etc.)
  • Issuance of complete documentation for warranties, if required.
